Finland shares many of the characteristics that Scandinavian countries have. You will find unspoiled nature, scenery that is breathtaking and a political system that is modern and liberal. If you visit here in the winter months you will enjoy the Northern Lights while summer months have lots to offer in outdoor activities such as barbecuing, fishing, swimming and summer cottages to rent and unwind at. The capital city of Helsinki is the main place to visit here, but there are other places that can easily form part of your travel itinerary.

This is the capital city of the country. It is similar in many ways to St Petersburg which is because it was built to replicate the style of this Russian city in the year 1812. You will find this to be a city of several churches such as Uspenski Cathedral, Church on the Rock and Lutheran cathedral. One can check out several galleries and museums here such as the National Museum of Finland.

This is deemed the third largest city of the country. However, it is not a bustling modern city, but more of a warm place filled with friendly neighborhoods. Tampere’s history can be checked out at Vapriikki as well as the Natural History Museum. The Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame is another notable place to visit here.

Levi is another place that one can enjoy visiting in this country which is also known as a winter resort destination. There are several trails that one can explore for snowboarding as well as skiing.
